Launching in July 2022, the Rotary Satellite Club of Kingaroy Sunrise is an adjunct to the Rotary Club of Kingaroy, offering an alternative way to participate and do good in our local community.
Meeting twice monthly at the KCCI Hub (Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy) we look to run and participate in several events a year while aiming to network and support the work of others in the community.
At our launch in early July 2022, we began our work with the Suitcase Parade, raising funds and purchasing new suitcases for children in the local Foster Care system.
Many children entering or moving within the foster care system have their few items transported in rubbish bags. We aim to give these children the dignity of their own new suitcases, which remain with them for their time in the system. It’s a small way to make a positive effect on their lives and a project we remain committed to.
We also run the annual South Burnett Training Awards, looking to promote business and training in the South Burnett and have long term plans for other initiatives making South Burnett the place to live.
